The Emmy’s are here!
The Emmy’s are the grandest honor in American Television industry. It corresponds to Tony award for theatre. Oscars for movies and Grammys for songs. This annual event is around the corner. The Primetime Emmy awards are happening on 17th September. This award has been given too much great television series which is considered the epitome of television culture. I have to admit, at first a wasn’t interested in Television series. But when I started watching them. I saw how they cover every aspect, episode by episode they develop the characters in the story and in our minds. That part, most of the times is not possible in a three-hour-film.
How Game of Thrones has done here
The HBO’s outstanding drama series “Game of Thrones” has been nominated for 110 Primetime Emmy Awards and won 38 out of those. Though this year you won’t be seeing record shatterings like LongClaw shattering a White Walker by Game of Thrones is due to shows airing dates. It is not qualified to be in this years Emmy’s. So, maybe next time Night King.
Game of Thrones won its first two Emmy’s back in 2011 when it was in its first season. Most possibly for the shock, they created by killing so presumed ‘main character’ Ned Stark. They trend spurted in 2012 have they won 6 Emmy’s. They continued this for all the Emmy’s to come. And in the last Emmy’s. Game of Thrones won a total of 12 Emmy’s. That was like setting the whole auditorium on wild fire. Oh, that did happen on the season 6 finale.
And Breaking Bad, Yes Science!
Some other great shows also took Emmy’s throughout their runtime. Like Breaking Bad, that made us love Chemistry again! It was about cancer struck high school teacher. Going offroad to make meth to pay for his bills initially. It turned out he was pretty good at it. So, he went on to build his own empire while crushing everyone who was in its path. The show had some great villains (though, we can’t say that Walter White was a hero) like Tuco Salamanca, Gustavo Fring, and Jack Welker. The shows had one of the best finales in its Season 5’s last episode “Felina”.
Anyone forgot about our F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
All time classic sitcom “F.R.I.E.N.D.S.” was a total of 6 Emmy’s. Though the show has some great memorable moments like “We were on a BREAK!”, “PIVOT”. Some things never change. The show’s creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman have done a great job. During those ten seasons to let the characters sink into the deeper parts in our hearts. Their jokes and plots are still relevant even after so long.
This year’s Emmy’s for the first time will be hosted by my favorite. CBS’s The Late Night Show’s host Stephen Colbert. Last year it was hosted by Jimmy Fallon. Let’s see what Steve has for us in his box this year.
