How good is iPhone X’s Face ID

The iPhone Trio Launch

Apple launched not one or two but three iPhones this week. Including iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were usual flagship launches. With all that improved power and camera. And a new-feature-that-we-already-have-for-a-couple-of-years. Wireless charging. We don’t wanna go into that, do we? That’s all usual stuff that happens every year with every flagship.

What’s so different about iPhone X?

The difference is iPhone X. It is the most expensive phone till date. Around a thousand dollars. It has got no home button. Which was the notion about iPhone 8, that it’ll be without the home button. But the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus do have their usual home buttons. iPhone X got rid of the Touch ID. The removal of the home button might cause some troubles with multitasking and unlocking. If you’re planning to buy it, you might also wanna try some new alternatives to AirPods.

Apple has replaced the Touch ID with all new Face ID. It is accurate, more convenient. And progresses towards a more hands-free experience. It’s all new and cool. But there are some downsides to it as well. First of all, we had a similar, but not so sophisticated feature. “Face Unlock” in Android phones, which was not that promising and accurate. Adding Face ID might be a different case. But replacing Touch ID with it is a bold step.

Like with the Touch ID, developers and users will take time to absorb and get used to it. People are concerned about the security. Like people can just use your high-resolution photo to unlock your phone or pay on your behalf with Apple Pay. These are some serious security concerns. Fortunately for us, that’ll be the case with the “Face Unlock” feature in Android. Apple took care of it. Seems likely. But what about the other cases. Like what if I wanna unlock my phone while driving. Or wanna use it, outside when it’s dark. Or I get a dirty face. Maybe I’m just being paranoid. But here’s the ultimate most popular case of all time.

FaceID usability with Faceless Assassins

Maybe I’m just being paranoid. But here’s the ultimate most popular case of all time. What if faceless assassins wanna use it? Arya Stark can easily hack anyone’s iPhone X then. If you’re not living under a rock, you might have already noticed some “Game Of Thrones” Jaqen H’ghar and Arya Stark memes. Making rounds on the internet. Well, they do have a point.
